CHURCHILL: FOR THE LOVE OF CHARTWELL
For this unit Winston Churchill was my muse and I researched into his life, his hobbies and what made Churchill him. Churchill spent a lot of time at his home, Chartwell House, in Kent with his wife and children. One of his favourite hobbies includes bricklaying and gardening, so from this my concept for this unit is 'Landscaping'.
My main focus was taking elements of different gardening and transitioning them into garments. For example, I looked into the shapes of gardening tools and developed how I could use them within my collection through repeat patterns, quilting and pockets.

Digital Scatter Pattern created from placing random shapes on a page, then I made a larger scale pattern by repeating the scatter pattern. These can be used for prints on shirts & t-shirts, and can also be used for linings of jackets.
